On Staurday, August 27th, Roger Lotz (seen on the phone) worked feverishly to close down DCA's Terminal B Information Desk with Hurricane Irene on its way.
Who is Roger Lotz...
Roger Lotz is a former journalist who has an extensive background in television, radio and new media. He has also staffed legislators in both houses of Congress and has worked on Congressional and Public Affairs issues for the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) as well as DC-based associations.
Roger possesses a proven, successful management background and excellent oral, written and new media communication skills. In pursuing his goals, he enjoys doing things "outside the box." To acquire his spokesperson position at USDOT, which would require him to discuss aviation issues, he first obtained a job as a flight attendant for American Eagle, one of the country’s largest and most successful regional airlines.
Each Friday night since 2002, Roger can be found at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) working as a Travelers Aid volunteer. Travelers Aid agencies and programs in the United States (including Puerto Rico), Canada and Australia served more than 6.5 million people last year (2009) at thirty-six transportation centers (airports, train and bus stations). In the Washington, DC area, Travelers Aid services can be found at DCA, Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) as well as Union Statio His work with Travelrs Aid has been highlighted in USA Today and the Wall Street Journal. Roger finds great enjoyment through his volunteer efforts.
Roger now wants to take his skills, experience and talent in journalism and public relations and transfer them to a position in the transportation industry, specifically in relation to aviation.
